Welcome to 'Your Mark in China'!

Last summer, after training in Qufu for five months I visited DengFeng where someone invited me to visit Master Hu ZhengSheng's school. I only trained here for four days because my family was waiting for me to return back home. Although it was a short period, the experience was still intense and because of this, I would love to learn more from Master Hu ZhengSheng and his students.

So where will I be this summer? This summer I will be on the west side of a small village called Shilipu, where Master Hu ZhengSheng has his own school. The school has 170-200 full time students living within the school, starting at the age of five. It is located on the foot of Mount Song, 5km away from the Shaolin temple and 5km to the nearest town DengFeng. Love to Share.

I believe there are more people in the world that have a connection with China, maybe in the same way as me or maybe a totally different one. Because of this I would love to give everyone the opportunity to share his or her love. If you got a great story, video, poem or anything else about your experiences or connection and you would love to share this, then do not hesitate and send it to: lovetoshare@yourmarkinchina.com. If you decide to send me something, you can be sure that you will get a friendly response.

About me.

July 25th 1989 was the first day of my life. Off course you all understand that I have no clue what I thought, felt, saw, heard, tasted or experienced during this day or that I know anything of the first few years of my life -- but right now I am happy that I can write my own history. In the beginning of 2011 I went to China to study Shaolin Kung Fu for a period of 6 months. During this first experience with China I fell in love with the culture, the people, the way of life and the country -- this all changed my life.

My name is Mark Schönhage, born in the Netherlands and my passion has everything to do with China. At the moment I am learning the language, studying the culture, practicing martial arts, following a Zen meditation master and doing gymnastics for strength and flexibility. My dream is to go to China for couple of years to learn more from the Shaolin warrior monks, but for now my main goal is to get my university degree.
